Hello, nice to meet you! Aangenaam! I am Renate Smals and I simply love to teach languages.
I am Dutch, but, from the age of 23, I have lived in France for 20 years… So I know what it's like, learning the language of a foreign country!
In 2001, I came back to the Netherlands and quickly started my own language company. Ever since, I have been teaching Dutch (NT2) and French in various settings: in company, for companies, in schools, for international institutions and at the Language Center of Tilburg University.
For me, teaching rhymes with the joy of learning. Learning a new language can be so much fun! I like to create an environment in which you can feel relaxed and secure. Of course you make mistakes (at least I did!), but this is how you progress!
I am very much looking forward to meeting you and opening the curtain of the Dutch language together 😊
